First of all, it has been a WHILE since I made a new blog post. I keep telling myself I’ll get back to it, but then things come up and it always seems to get pushed aside. But last night, I hosted a SUPER FUN group of ladies for a brush calligraphy workshop- and one of them was Batoul of Ali Batoul Creatives, and she happened to take some incredibly perfect photos. So, I had a good excuse.

This workshop was special for three reasons.

One, it was my first workshop sponsored by Tombow, and all of my students got some awesome products provided by them! We had a ton of fun with the different pens, and there was a collective *gasp* when I explained that the sand eraser can erase PEN!  So a HUGE shoutout to Tombow for that help.

Two, I got to host once again at Little Jo Berry’s, which is just the coolest bakery in town. She made us the world’s best vegan treats (not the cheese, of course… that I added myself), brewed us some coffee and most importantly, let us spend a couple hours in her super cute space!

And finally, three- I had such a fun group of ladies. I had some return participants, who wanted to try brush instead of pointed pen. I had some fellow creatives from the Rising Tide Society– Batoul, who I mentioned above, Emily- who runs a fun lifestyle blog in Ottawa called What Emily Said, and Courtney, a professional wedding planner at Courtney Elizabeth Events (eager to learn calligraphy for her own wedding coming up!). I had some girls who took the same program as I did in University, and I also even had some previous clients who I did work for and wanted to learn themselves. All in all, it was a great group.

Safe to say I will have to start planning a brush calligraphy 2.0 so I can have all these ladies back once again! Thanks again to Tombow and Little Jo Berry’s for the help making this happen!
